Setting up email in Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail

Connect your Rivervo email to Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, and mobile mail apps. IMAP + SMTP settings for Business email and for the mailboxes of your website hosting.

4 MIN READ

Rivervo has two different kinds of email, and they use different servers. Find out which one you have first — then use the matching settings.

The Email tab says which one a domain uses: Business email has its own plan; mail on the hosting is listed as Mail on the hosting.

The server is mail.aegis.email for everyone — not mail.yourdomain.com.

Forgot the password? Support can't see or recover mailbox passwords — set a new one: project → Email tab → the mailbox → Change password or name.

To read mail in the browser, use Open webmail on the Email tab, or go to app.aegis.email.

Mail on the hosting: settings

The exact server names and ports are in the panel: the mailbox → ⋯ → Settings for mail programs. Use those values. Typically:

FieldValue
Incoming (IMAP)port 993, SSL/TLS
Outgoing (SMTP)port 465, SSL/TLS
Usernameyour full email address
Passwordthe mailbox password (⋯ → New password sets one)

Webmail: Webmail next to the mailbox, or https://webmail.yourdomain.com.

Apple Mail (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

Business email — the easy way: project → Email tab → the mailbox's menu → Set up on iPhone / Mac. It downloads a setup profile; open it and confirm in Settings (iPhone/iPad) or System Settings (Mac).

Manually (both kinds of email):

  1. iPhone/iPad: Settings → Mail → Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Mail Account. Mac: Mail → Settings → Accounts → + → Other Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, full email address and password.
  3. Choose IMAP and fill in the incoming and outgoing servers from the table above for your kind of email.
  4. Save. If it fails, re-check the ports — the client sometimes picks 143 or 587 by itself.

Outlook (Windows, Mac)

  1. File → Add Account.
  2. Enter your email address → Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually → Connect.
  3. Choose IMAP.
  4. Enter the incoming server and port 993 (SSL/TLS), and the outgoing server and port 465 (SSL/TLS).
  5. Click Next and enter your password.

Gmail app and Android mail apps

On Android (Gmail app, FairEmail, K-9 / Thunderbird for Android): add an account of type Other / Personal (IMAP), enter the email and password, then fill in the IMAP and SMTP settings manually from the table for your kind of email.

Gmail on the web (Settings → Accounts and Import) can only fetch mail from other accounts over POP3, which this guide doesn't cover. Use an IMAP mail app instead — the Gmail app on Android and iPhone supports IMAP accounts.

Common issues

  • "Connection refused" / timeouts — almost always the wrong server or port. Business email: mail.aegis.email, 993 and 465.
  • "Authentication failed" — the username must be the full email address, not just the part before @. If you're unsure of the password, set a new one.
  • Business email: can't create a mailbox yet — the DNS records on the Email tab (MX, SPF, DKIM) must show as found first.
  • Mail on the hosting: incoming mail bounces — the mailbox may be full; check its size on the Email tab and Clean the mailbox or raise Mailbox size.
